FTQ360 Implementation Process

Companies can implement the FTQ360 supplier performance management system themselves, or work with our professionals to accelerate implementation and make cost-effective use of company resources. Either way, results will be achieved quickly. One month is the usual time it takes to fully implement the FTQ360 system.

Implementation Framework

Implementing FTQ360 establishes a system of accountability for suppliers to deliver quality work, on-time. A structured process is put in place to manage supplier performance and measure supplier first time quality & delivery. At completion you will be able to:

  • Obtain performance data from front-line personnel that document the following: supplier quality and schedule performance, as well as specific issues encountered

  • Integrate data from quality assurance inspections, customer inspections, and warranty calls into the supplier performance dashboard

  • Track supplier performance to know which ones are good, bad, improving or slipping

  • Send performance feedback to suppliers

  • Use data to manage supplier performance through recognition of top performers, intervention with poor performers, and incentives for the rest to excel

  • Coach and train employees so they effectively carry out changes in job responsibilities.

Our Approach

The implementation involves designing how the system should operate, customizing FTQ360 to company operations, and training supplier and company personnel.  FTQ360 is a web based system so there is no software to install.

Step 1: Plan New Supplier Management Practices

Conduct work sessions with senior operations managers to design how supplier performance management should work at the company. Examine what is already in place, what is working, and what is not. Design how supplier performance should be managed and improved. With this in mind, determine how performance data will be collected, integrated with existing systems, and operate on a day-to-day basis.

Step 2: Preparation for Implementation

Prepare the FTQ360 system to work as envisioned by the plan in step 1:

  • Prepare inspection forms for use by suppliers and field personnel
  • Import data from company files into the FTQ360 database
  • Customize FTQ360 data entry screens to accommodate the data that will be entered
  • Customize supplier performance reports and schedule delivery
  • Provide contract scope of work amendments that address quality responsibilities
  • Finalize preparations for kick-off

Step 3: Kick-off

Kick-off the FTQ360 system throughout the supply base as well as company operations:

  • Conduct training sessions on operating changes for company personnel
  • Conduct a briefing/training session for suppliers and field personnel. Suppliers will understand business benefits as well as changing responsibilities
  • Lead a work session with company managers on methods and techniques for managing supplier performance
  • Train company representatives on how to input inspection data, run reports, download data, and import inspection data from other sources.

Anticipated Benefits and Results

The FTQ360 system will be fully operational and enhanced supplier performance management will begin. Expect quality and deliver problems to steadily decrease and on-time performance to improve. These changes lead to cost reductions, accelerated cycle time, and higher levels of customer satisfaction.
